Diabetes 101

Living with diabetes is a challenge!  Education is the key to managing this challenge successfully.  This 8-hour (2 hours per week for 4 weeks) series of classes will help you better manage your disease.  We discuss Healthy Coping, Being Active, Healthy Eating (carb counting, label reading), Blood Sugar Monitorinng, Problem-solving (sick days, hypo/hyperglycemic episodes), Reducing Risk and Taking Medicines.  Another series of FREE classes is scheduled to begin April 4 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at the Bullitt County Health Dept, 181 Lees Valley Road, Shepherdsville.  Call 502-955-5355 to register.

Stop Smoking classes

The Bullitt County Health Dept is offering Freedom From Smoking classes beginning March 28, 2017.  These classes are held at the Bullitt County Health Department in Shepherdsville.  Call 502-955-5355 to sign up.

Matter of Balance

Participants in this program learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable; set goals to increase activity; change their environment to reduce falls risks; and exercise to increase strength and balance.
