The Kentucky Coalition for Healthy Communities (KCHC) is a group working to improve the health of people in Bullitt, Shelby, Trimble, Barren, Hart, Metcalfe, Oldham, Spencer and Henry Counties, Kentucky. We are concerned citizens, health care professionals, organizations, and other community groups who are building a healthier environment for people with diabetes, and all citizens. Our goal is to improve access to good medical care, affordable healthy foods, safe exercise opportunities, and increase personal and public awareness about healthy behaviors.
We are funded by a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), part of the US Department of Health & Human Services. Through this grant and our community partners, we have classes, events, and resources to share with our communities.
Each county chapter of the KCHC holds monthly meetings. Check our Home Page for the location of the next coalition meeting.
Our meetings bring partners and community members together to discuss how we can make our communities healthier places. We work on creating healthy resources for our communities, influencing public policy, and planning educational events for the public and for professionals.
